wifireal - acceptable use policy

The wifireal service has been designed for general internet browsing and email access for guests and customers of The Real Hotel Company plc.

In order to make the service as reliable and user-friendly as possible all users need to observe the following rules and etiquette which are based on ‘best internet industry practice’ and draws on the experience of users and service providers across the internet community for both internet access and email.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
  • Users must not, by using the wifireal service, possess or transmit material which is illegal in the UK. If you are in doubt as to the legality of any material please take independent legal advice.
  • Users must not gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to other customers’ computer systems for any purpose, including accessing the internet. As well as being in breach of contract for the service, such hacking or attempted hacking is a criminal offence.
  • The wifireal service will not allow the use of ‘always on’ file sharing programs, and the service is not suitable to ‘file sharing’ or peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic. Such practice is bandwidth hungry and could impact other users.
  • Limits may be imposed on bandwidth made available to users should excessive usage occur.
  • While connected to the internet, users must comply with legal requirements concerning telephone network (mis)use.
  • The wifireal service prohibits users from sharing logon details.
  • The wifireal service prohibits the use of port scanning software on its services.
  • Users must not participate in the sending of unsolicited bulk email or any other form of email or Usenet “abuse”. This applies to material which originates on the users system as well as third party material which passes through the users system.
  • Users must not use the service to say anything that could cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety to other users or to distribute indecent or offensive material or any messages that may incite disorder or encourage illegal activities.
  • Users must not use the service to advertise any products or services.

Compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy is a mandatory requirement under our Terms and Conditions. Failure to comply may result in termination of suspension of the service.

The Real Hotel Company will notify the police if it is found that the wifireal service is being used for any illegal purposes and will co-operate with any police enquiries.
